Turnip (Shaljam) is the most popular root vegetable in India. The roots of Turnip are round, crisp, solid, and mildly flavored. This is mainly a cool-season crop; however, it can tolerate higher temperatures.
Turnip is a cool-season root vegetable that grows quickly in spring (February-March), late summer, fall, and winter (September-January)
