The month of January is considered to be the off season for the garden as most of the plants in the garden are in dormant state, so it is the best time to prepare/start a new garden. If you want to know what to do in January Gardening? Then read this story.
Prepare a list of all the things related to gardening and if you already have plants in your garden, harvest them and clear out old pots to plant new ones.
Clean your tools thoroughly, and repair any tool handles that are broken or damaged.
If you have prepared to make a summer garden, now you can sow the seeds indoors in the month of January so that a month later in February the plants will be ready to be planted in the garden.
Water perennial flowering plants in your garden to set them up for growth and start flowering as soon as winter ends.
One of the tasks to be done in January gardening is fertilizing the plants in the garden. You can do top dressing with organic manure to improve the soil quality.
Check for pests and diseases in the plant.
Repot the plants in the garden which need to be repotted.
Do pruning of perennial fruit, flower and vegetable plants.
