Curcuma is a beautiful ornamental flowering plant mostly grown as a perennial which is known as Siam Tulip and Summer Tulip but they are not the same as Tulip
Curcuma is a flowering plant that grows on tall, straight and strong stems, and produces white flowers with cup-shaped petals and long tulip-like leaves. Curcuma is a bit difficult to grow but you will get the best results if you grow it from bulbs.
The best time to plant Curcuma bulbs is spring to early summer (February to April) when the climate is warm.
Curcuma grows well in a container, Pot or grow bag of at least 9-15 inches is good for its growth. Plant 1-2 bulbs in each 9-inch pot or grow bag.
Plant 1-2 bulbs in the soil at a depth of 3-5 inches, the eyes or bud of the bulb should be upwards.
After a few weeks, you should see new growth emerge.
You can apply a liquid fertilizer to Curcuma plant during the growing season and flowering time.
Full morning sun and some afternoon shade are excellent for a Curcuma flowering plant.
Curcuma does moderate water requirements, you should water daily during the flowering season and keep the soil moist.
Usually, Curcuma blooms from late spring to fall (March to September) but blooms profusely throughout the summer.
