A cherry tomato is a type of red, yellow small, soft tomato that gives a unique flavor to our dishes; you can eat cherry tomatoes raw or cooked with vegetables. Like other tomatoes, cherry tomatoes are very easy and simple to grow; it gives a stunning look to your home garden or kitchen garden.
Cherry tomatoes can grow in all seasons throughout the year but grow best in the spring season (February to April) or Autumn season (September To November).
Pots or grow bags about 12 to 18 inches wide and deep are good for this.
Usually, cherry tomato seeds are sown by seedling transplant method at a depth of about 0.5 cm in the soil.
Cherry tomato seeds will germinate within 6-12 days and the optimum temperature for seed germination is between 18-27°C.
During flowering time, use phosphorus or Potash rich fertilizer on the cherry tomatoes plant.
A cherry tomato plant need 6-8 hours of full sunlight every day.
Cherry tomato plant needs regular water or deep watering in summer days for better or fast growth of plants and give water once in 3 days during winters.
Cherry tomato is usually ready to harvest within about 60-80 days of transplanting.
