Coco peat is a popular growing medium derived from coconut husks, also known as coco coir or coconut coir, It has excellent water retention properties while still providing good drainage, making it suitable for a wide range of plants. Here are some examples of plants that can grow well in coco peat:
You would have to add a lot of other ingredients to coco peat to use for planting because it doesn't contain any nutrients. Mix together 40% cocopeat, 40% compost (cow dung manure or vermicompost), 10% perlite, and 10% vermiculite to make a potting mix. Now your potting mix is ready for planting.
Herbs like basil, parsley, cilantro, and mint thrive in coco peat. It gives them the right balance of moisture and aeration for healthy growth.

Lettuce, spinach, kale, and other leafy greens grow very well in coco peat. The medium retains moisture, which helps the growth and prevents wilting.

Flowering plants such as orchids, roses, gerbera daisies, marigolds, geraniums, zinnias, begonias, impatiens and pansies can be grown in cocopeat.

Some succulent plants like Haworthia, Echeveria, Aloe Vera, Gasteria, Sedum, Sansevieria, etc. can grow well in coco peat.

Many houseplants such as ferns, anthuriums, pothos, snake plants, peace lilies, cactus, bonsai and spider plants can be grown in coco peat and can thrive without soil.
