Before you begin, gather the following materials. Pruning Shears, Rooting Hormone, Potting Soil Mix, Pots, Plastic Bags.

The best period is usually during late spring to early summer when the plants are actively growing.

Before taking cuttings, make sure that your rose plant is well hydrated by watering it during the day.

Select healthy stems that are about 6 to 8 inches long, and cut at a 45-degree angle just below a set of leaves.

Dip the cut end of each stem into rooting hormone powder or gel to encourage the development of roots.
