Choose a Grafted Plant

When selecting a fruit tree, look for grafted dwarf or semi-dwarf varieties. Such fruit trees are about 4 to 8 feet high and give more fruits like a normal tree.

Choose a 'Cone' Shaped Tree

To plant a fruit tree in a pot, choose a tree that is of a cone shape, which means its branches grow upwards at an angle of 45 degrees.

Use A Plastic Grow bags

Planting fruit trees in plastic pots or grow bags will keep the soil from freezing in winter, and grow bags are very lightweight, so they're easy to move around. A 24 x 24-inch grow bag is best for planting fruit plants.

Train Your Tree
