Patty Pan (Bush) squash is a famous variety of summer squash that is notable for its small size (2-5 inches in diameter), round and shallow shape, and scalloped edges. These squash can be stuffed, grilled, sliced, chopped, or cooked like other summer squash.

The best season for sowing Squash pattypan seeds is mid-spring to summer (February-May).

When to sow seeds?

Pots or grow bags about 18 to 24 inches wide and deep are good for this.

Grow bag size?

Sow squash seeds about 0.5 to 1 inch deep in the soil at a distance of 18-24 inches between two plants.

Seeds Sowing depth?

Seeds will take about 1-2 weeks to germinate. The Ideal temperature for sowing squash seeds is 21-30°C.

Germination days?

Apply slow-release fertilizers (vermicompost, cow manure, neem cake) once a month during the flowering and fruiting period.

Best Fertilizer?

Squash requires 6-8 hours of full sun every day.

Sunlight requirement?

The squash pattypan needs 1 inch of daily water and the soil should be moist but avoid over-watering.

Water need?

Pattypan squash will be ready for harvest in 45-70 days from sowing seeds.
