How To Grow Drumstick (Moringa) At Home?

Moringa or drumstick is a powerhouse of minerals contains high vitamins and is healthy for our body. This versatile vegetable that is very famous in India and other countries. Drumstick is a very easy-to-grow vegetable and can live for many years. 

Drumstick is warm loving plants and cannot survive in cool weather. The best month for sowing moringa seeds is March to May or July to October.

Drumstick is generally transplanted rather than directly sown in any pots/grow bags.

Drumstick develops as a tree, so it needs a large grow bag or pot at least 18 to 24 inches wide and deep for healthy growth.

Drumstick seeds will be germinated within 2-3 weeks and the best germination temperature is 18-25°C

Use an all-purpose fertilizer or liquid fertilizer once a month for better growth.

Drumstick plants need 6-8 hours of full sunlight to grow.

Drumstick plant does not need much water, give water when you feel the soil becomes dry.

Moringa drumsticks will take 8-9 months for harvesting from planting. Plucking the young green moringa pods from their branch.
